The Great Alpine Journey stops in St. Moritz

Keeping the elegance and passion of the 1000 Miglia intact, the Coppa delle Alpi is the regularity race for classic cars that winds its way through the most striking passes in the Alpine arc, combining the spirit of competition with the charm of a unique and spectacular route, connecting the Alpine communities involved.

After three winter editions that inaugurated the Italian Great Events Championship, the Coppa delle Alpi 2024 will take place in spring alongside “The Great Alpine Journey”, a path of reflection parallel to the race itinerary aimed at representing the socio-economic, anthropological and environmental transformations crossing the Alpine territory in its cross-border dimension. After the start in Trieste on 28 April 2024, in the following days the event will stop in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Seefeld in Tirol, St. Moritz, Gstaad and Courmayeur, where it will end on Saturday 4 May 2024. The cars will be in Saint Moritz in the early evening of 1 May.

The number of competing cars will be limited to 40, they will participate by invitation and the cars will be carefully selected to ensure a uniquely prestigious fleet. During the five race days, the crews will cross the Alpine chain from East to West, crossing the borders of Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and France. Among the 40 participating cars, 10 will host as many opinion leaders from the nations touched by the route, who will preside over different areas of interest. These professionals will fuel a debate at each leg around five themes: agriculture, crafts, culture, energy and tourism. Localities of interest will be matched to each theme and the event will conclude in Courmayeur with the race finish line and a Forum, the summation of the ideas and contributions gathered in the local meetings with stakeholders.

The strength of the 1000 Miglia network is the tool that makes the brand a multi-faceted communication platform, capable of representing content and values that go beyond sporting events. 1000 Miglia has always supported and promoted the communities and territories it passes through with its events, which do not act as a backdrop, but are an integral part of the events.
