Library

The lending library is located in the old schoolhouse, a building that shapes the character of the Plazza da Scoula in imposing fashion. The lending library is housed on the ground floor behind the large glass & metal frontage. The electronic catalogues and lending desk are situated here with the magazine corner with listening spaces immediately adjacent. An ancient column standing on its natural-stone foundation is an impressive feature. The children’s library is to the left of the entrance. A small reading room is found at the rear with the actual reading room for the adult’s library next to it.

The library has 7,000 books in German, Italian, Romansch, French and English, CDs, cassettes, maps, magazines, newspapers.

Documentation library: Attractive, well-lit working spaces are a clear invitation to browse or work. There is too little space for all the documents in the constantly growing inventory and many are stored in the modern archive system.

On offer: local history archive, books, newspapers, brochures, posters, photographs, paintings, films, slides.
