The new St. Moritz landmark takes shape
On 1st July 2014, after 26 months construction, the new OVAVERVA Indoor Swimming Pool and Sport Centre, St. Moritz will open. The centre will house various baths and pools, a Wellness Oasis, a fitness centre, outdoor sport centre, and a restaurant. The newly established official website gives an insight to the project.

Where there was just a deep hole in the Spring, the recent summer months have seen the construction of foundations, walls, ceilings and shafts. It started as a vision: the new Indoor Swimming Pool in St. Moritz should not only be a swimming area with swimming and diving pools, for children and for fun, but also a Sport and Recreational Centre which will offer a place for Wellness and eating out, outdoor activities, and a retail outlet. Locals and guests should be provided with a location to promote their health, for training, fun and socializing, tranquility and relaxation.
In addition to these requirements, a extraordinary architecture should create a unique visual highlight. It should be bright and welcoming to visitors, and despite its modern appearance, fit harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. The fulfillment of this vision required detailed propositions by specialists from various fields.
The Result: The onerous and sometimes conflicting requirements have been met. The OVAVERVA design contains all the necessary infrastructure for such a complex operation, distributed over four levels. From 1st July 2014, guests will find the following on offer over the four levels:
Indoor Swimming Pool – 3,200 m2
- Water surface area 915 m2 (incl. Relaxation Wellness Spa)
- 25 Metre pool
- Diving Pool with two 1 metre boards, and a 3 metre platform.
- Shallow Non-swimmers pool

- Fun tower with 3 Pipe slides

Restaurant - 530 m2
- Public restaurant with indoor seating for 90, and seating for 40 on the terrace
- Pool Bistro with seating for 30 internally, and seating for 30 on the terrace
