Freeski World Cup Corvatsch 2014 – Side-Events make the perfect setting for the megaevent
From March 19th to 23rd 2014 the world-best freeskiers meet once again at the Corvatsch in the Engadine for the Freeski World Cup. The creative contest setup and numerous side-events attract the who-is-who of the european and international freeski scene to come to the Engadine and put the fun for tricks and style in the focus at the end of a long season.
As the battle on the spectacular and creative contest setup is not only for the most fun, but also for some valuable World Cup points to win the slopestyle disciple, top rider will come and go in continuous streams to the Freeski World Cup Corvatsch. Besides several swiss local heroes like Kai Mahler or Elias Ambuehl there will be stars like Oystein Braaten (NOR) or Jesper Tjader (SWE) starting at the Corvatsch. Within the female contenders Emma Dahlstrom (SWE) and Lisa Zimmermann (GER) are the big names, but riders like Camilla Berra and Giulia Tanno will represent the Swiss colors. For all it’s gonna be tough to take away the win in the World Cup discipline slopestyle from Lisa Zimmermann and Jesper Tjader.
The last FIS Slopestyle World Cup of the season starts on Wednesday and Thursday, March 19th and 20th. On these days the training on the creative slopestyle course is on the schedule for the 70 starting riders. The practiced tricks can then be demonstrated at the qualification on Friday, March 21st from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The best from the qualification will then have the big showdown in the finals on Saturday, March 2nd, from 1pm till 3pm.
Fun for everyone at the side-events
There will be several side events open for everyone, so that not only the professional athletes can be active and have their fun. No matter if freeskier or snowboarder – the most important thing is the common pleasure for freestyle. On Friday night the “Kiss The Night Railjam” with nightskiing and the subsequent afterparty is going down at the Hossa Bar. To complete the World Cup weekend the “Pipe Games” will be held in the Halfpipe on Sunday afternoon. From 1pm till 3pm Kai Mahler, Fabian Boesch (freeski) and Ursina Haller (snowboard) will give a pipe-workshop. The swiss pro riders will give useful tips for all kids and everybody who wants to learn riding pipe. After the workshop there will be a jam session from 1pm where the rider with the best style can win a brandnew Samsung Smartphone among other great prices. So join the Pipe Games – it’s worth it!
On Saturday all party people will get their money´s worth when they are freaking out by the sound of the Swiss rapper Snook with his mix of Swiss-German and Rhaeto-Romanic and the well-known DJ duo Drunken Masters.
