LA TAVOLATA – The Summer will be even more beautiful
Within just a few years, the Food & Music Festival "La Tavolata" has blossomed into a lifestyle event and an essential part of the St. Moritz event calendar. From the culinary and musical worlds, the organizers have created the finest summer festival in the Engadine, celebrated on the last weekend in July.
St. Moritz invites you to lunch... for the fourth time. On what is probably the longest and certainly the most beautifully decorated table in Switzerland, the people of St. Moritz will again this summer, laugh, dance, sing, philosophize, probably drink too much, and most importantly, enjoy good food with the kitchen brigades of the best St. Moritz hotels taking care of the culinary needs of the guests. In addition to a culinary selection, which leaves nothing to be desired, music lovers will not be forgotten. Bands from around the world will set the mood from two stages, and will invite your participation in song and dance.
Musically the Tavolata weekend will start on the Saturday. The concerts will provide visitors with a musical treasure hunt. The festival will open with Lea Lu performing on the roof of the Hotel Schweizerhof. This young Swiss lady will "turn on the switch" to start the music by presenting her new album "2" - irresistible "good mood" music. The Fribourg pop band "Marvin" promises the finest quality pop music, and Ritschl performs his new album "Öpfelboum u Palme", sing-along songs of a quality that only Ritschl can write. The Commitments (from the film of the same name) will appear on the main stage in the centre of St. Moritz, passionately creating the same energy and excitement for which they have been known over the last 25 years. They have performed over 1,500 concerts to enthusiastic audiences totaling about 6 million people. With Mustang Sally, Take Me To The River and Try A Little Tenderness, excitement is ensured at 1,800m above sea level.
The question "Where to now ?" after the concert is simply answered. "Hamp goes Wild" will be performing a Boogie-Woogie-Rock’n’Roll Concert in the kitchen of the Badrutt's Palace Hotel, and the class of Mr Ray ensures party fever, sweet memories and funky grooves in the legendary King's Club. This band brings the hits from an unforgettable era back to the disco.
