Winter Walking Tips

The central Engadin region from St. Moritz to Bever offers a dense network of winter- walking trails with a wide range of options. Everything is possible, from simple, short strolls to long and strenuous hikes through the snow-blanketed landscape. On the trails through the main valley or strolling over the frozen St. Moritz Lake, you’ll find yourself in the midst of the lively winter-season scene, whilst the Val Roseg and Val Bever side valleys offer serenity in dreamlike landscapes.

Anyone wanting to see the valley from above can enjoy the panorama from the high-level trail. A trip from St. Moritz Bad to the Hahnensee lake at 2153 m is well worthwhile. The ascent is not only rewarded by wide, sweeping views but also with the chance to stop at the Hahanensee restaurant in its superb scenic setting.  The ski region of St. Moritz is located on the opposite side of the valley and can also be explored on foot. The winter-walking highlight is experienced along the Muottas Muragl Philosophers’ Trail. The round-tour starts at the top station of the Muottas Muragl funicular and the views of the snow-blanketed Engadin will never cease to amaze you.
