RSS and RSS Feed
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Newly published contents will be automatically and frequently sent onto the subscribers computer or other terminals like mobile phone, PDA or others. RSS saves time by not needing to visit each site individually but the subscriber gets all the information chosen directly, fast and easy. Many functions, which base on RSS, are more often integrated in already existing applications like e-mail programs or webbrowsers.
The subscription works not only with texts. It can be used for videos and audio transmissions as well, for example in Podcasts, which can be played on mobile music players like an Apple iPod or similar.
The provision of online contents and data for RSS is called RSS-Feed.
