Star chef Reto Mathis is breathing new life into the old «Magic Hut» up on the sunny Salastrains plateau above St. Moritz. His «CheCha restaurant & club» opens in summer 2017.
The sculpture «The Sky Over Nine Columns» by the German artist Heinz Mack will remain in St. Moritz one month longer than originally planned. The nine golden steles will be on show until Easter. The exhibition on the banks of Lake St. Moritz is very popular both among guests and locals, and media around the world have given it a positive reception.
From 7 to 9 July 2017, the 24th edition of the British Classic Car Meeting St. Moritz takes place. In 2017, the Rallye will lead from St. Moritz into the Italian-Mediterranean Chiavenna and back to the Engadine. As the actual highlight of the meeting, the crowd favourite Concours d 'Elégance takes place on Sunday.
The Festival da Jazz St. Moritz kicks off its jubilee year with four scintillating concerts from March 30 to April 1 on various local stages – a musical appetizer for the tenth festival edition from July 6 to 31, 2017.
«Rocky Mountain Trail Games» is a mountain-bike event on the Corviglia overlooking St. Moritz. It is not a race – but demands teamwork harmony and coordination. Registration for the 2017 edition from August 11 to 13, 2017 is already open.
The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz has revived an historical building in the centre of St. Moritz and given it a new life: The Olympic Ice Pavilion has been renovated and expanded by the star architect Norman Foster in time for the Ski World Championships 2017. As the «Kulm Country Club» it will be home to a public restaurant, a bar lounge, and an ice skate rental.
Right on time for the World Ski Championships 2017, St. Moritz's history as host of the Olympic Winter Games (1928 & 1948) and five Alpine World Ski Championships (1934, 1948, 1974, 2003, 2017) is being presented – on large information plaques at six locations in the resort area.

The monobob, skeleton and luge of the Olympic Youth Games 2020 in Lausanne will be held on the Olympic Bob Run St. Moritz-Celerina. This will be the first time since 1948 that Olympic competitions will be held in St. Moritz.
The major reconstruction of the St. Moritz station is now almost complete. The start and finish station of the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express will be presented as a new, modern, colonnaded temple in time for the World Ski Championships in February.
The St. Moritz Calendar annually presents up and coming photographers, who present their personal interpretations of St. Moritz and the Engadine. In 2017, the local photographer Filip Zuan presents twelve gripping black and white images with "Happenings on Top".
The winter edition 2016/17 of the St. Moritz Magazine is dedicated to everything sporty. The articles are accompanied by extensive series of pictures and focus on snow sports and the 2017 World Ski Championships.
Starting this winter, the Swiss 3-star chef Andreas Caminada is cooperating with the Badrutt's Palace Hotel in St. Moritz. Caminada has opened his second «IGNIV» restaurant in the «Le Relais» of Badrutt's Palace Hotel in December 2016.
The construction of the new hotel «Grace St. Moritz» has begun. The former Hotel La Margna on Via Serlas is undergoing an extensive renovation and will receive an annex building. The historic building will be carefully restored and preserved.
