15th WinterRAID around the «White Star of St. Moritz»

The 15th WinterRAID, Switzerland's biggest winter rally for classic oldtimer cars, will be quite a challenge: around the «White Star of St. Moritz» course from St. Moritz to Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy and back. This time the Engadine prologue on January 17 will take nearly a whole afternoon, and on Saturday January 20 spectators will enjoy the finish all the more in the St. Moritz pedestrian zone.

On Wednesday January 17, 2018 the historic line-up will embark upon a prologue before tackling the «White Star of St. Moritz». Passing again and again through St. Moritz, the prologue this time will last almost all afternoon. Next morning drivers will start their engines in the snowy Montebello gravel pit near Pontresina, proceed over the Bernina pass to Italy, then across numerous other passes and mountain roads to Cortina d'Ampezzo in the Dolomites. From Cortina, these vintage vehicles will tackle pass after pass against the magnificent backdrop of Dolomite peaks.

This internationally oriented winter event is not a race. What counts above all is regularity: precise timing compliance despite snow and ice, at night as well. When the rally finishes in St. Moritz on Saturday January 20, they can expect a rousing welcome in the town centre pedestrian zone this time. By then they will have tackled at least 25 Swiss and Italian passes in the depths of winter. Registration for this exceptional rally is still open. For more details please visit www.raid.ch.
