The traditional race has proved so popular of late that, in 2018, participant numbers had to be limited for the first time in the event?s 50-year history.
The Marathon week gets under way on the first Sunday in March with the Engadin Women´s Race and continues with the Youth Sprint on Wednesday afternoon. The Engadin Night Run on Thursday evening is also a firm fixture: a fun get-together by moonlight and candlelight and an opportunity to savour the convivial experience and get along. The Night Sprint on Friday evening is always guaranteed to be a thrilling spectacle, with world-class elite athletes on the one hand and young up-and-coming Graubünden talent on the other competing for the podium finishes. The highlight of the Marathon week is the Marathon Sunday with the Engadin Ski Marathon over 42 km and the Half-Marathon over 21 km. The Marathon Week itself is rounded off with the traditional marathon festival in the finish area, where participants, spectators and volunteers all meet up one more time.
